TXU Energy Retail Co LP is Texas' largest retail electric provider with over $4.4 billion in electric sales and over 1.6 million customers, and is a subsidiary of Vistra Energy, a major energy producer in Texas. Vistra owns both fossil fuel resources, including coal plants, though they have closed some of those plants and invested in renewable resources in recent years. In fact, Vistra has announced it will invest in new storage and solar resources in the coming years, although they have not made commitments to close their remaining coal plants. TXU does offer to certain customers demand-response products, and has well-developed net-metering policies. Still given their size, their commitment to clean energy products is limited, and their price for their 100% offerings is significantly more expensive than their normal offerings.
