Entergy (IOU)

Serves 477,061 customers, $1,644,711.00 of sales and provides 20,320 GWhs of electricity per year. 424,701 are residential.
Entergy is a full service/vertically integrated energy provider serving Southeast Texas, including all or parts of Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Falls, Galveston, Grimes, Hardin, Harris, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Limestone, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Newton, Orange, Polk, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Tyler, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties. Despite their large customer base, Entergy's low scores are result of it not embracing investments in clean energy, solar rebates, or long-term commitments to solar or wind power. Recently, they did adopt an overall goal to reduce their carbon intensity by 50% by 2030, largely through expanding renewable energy. At least two of those projects are planned to be located in Texas, but not expected until 2023. They have also adopted a limited rebate for electric vehicle charging station. Because it's a vertically integrated (full service) investor owned utility, the energy side if its business was also scored (+0 to +30). Entergy's additional score is +1
